May 1, 2015 the WooFDriver and the PAK went to Trout Run for a Daytime Mushing adventure in the Tuscarora State Forest of Pennsylvania to see what they could find during the daytime hours!

The trail follows the Trout Run waterway with the Gunter Valley Reservoir midway. This area was logged by many companies of the lumber industry from the early 1900’s to 1930. The Civilian Conservation Corps came in 1933 working with state forestry personnel to construct and maintain park roads, trails and bridges.

There is a legend that there was once an insane asylum located in this wooded area that burned down. Many patients died in the horrifying fire but many also escaped into the surrounding woods. After the flames were extinguished seven gates were built to trap the wandering patients. Only one gate is visible by day but all seven are visible by night. The legend states that any person who passes through all seven gates goes directly to the underworld.
