There are 12,000 named species of Millipedes and they live on all continents except Antarctica. Some people even keep the Giant Millipede as an exotic pet. They can reach up to 10 inches long! When they feel threatened they curl their hard body into a ball and secrete a brown irritating liquid. This liquid is toxic and can cause irritations or a burning sensation! If in contact it is best to wash right away and avoid getting it into your eyes, mouth or open sores!!
